I love reading the Big Fat Hen the version by Keith Baker and following it up with this make and take home book. It is also one of the books I like to have ready for Back to School Night or Open House. The kids come in and are excited to read the book to their parents. The students will color, cut. The thing that made this book fun for me was that I have said this rhyme with children for many years and always wondered where in the heck the "big fat hen" came from!
